Make Your Own Ricotta Cheese Recipe

Yield 1 quart of cheese


How to make cheese sounds so tough but its so easy and rewarding, not many things are better than having cheese exactly how you want it, with the ideal texture, flavor and salt, so feel free to play around with this recipe.


Ingredients:

  • 1 gallon of milk

  • 1 pint of heavy cream

  • 220 grams of fresh lemon juice

  • Zest of 1 lemon

  • Thermometer

  • Cheesecloth

  • Salt


Directions:

1. Bring your milk, cream, and lemon zest to 180 degrees Fahrenheit in a pot, then add your lemon juice.


2. Let the mixture stay at that temperature for at least 15 minutes, then strain trough cheesecloth and season to taste.
