Puerto Rican 🇵🇷 desserts are not seen that much in menus, you can probably get them at a panaderia before you get them on a restaurant, so we took some tembleque and made a well deserved upgrade. I’m not the biggest tembleque fan but everyone absolutely loved it and I definitely had a good time eating it, the butteriness of the tart and the sweetness of the tembleque paired together beautifully. Definitely give this simple recipe a try!
Ingredients:
1.5 cup coconut milk
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup cornstarch
2/3 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
Directions:
1. Mix cornstarch, sugar and salt in a bowl. Gradually add the coconut milk and mix.
2. Place over moderate-high heat and stir continuously until it begins to take consistency. Reduce heat to moderate and stir until it thickens and boils.
3. Remove from heat and quickly pour into a mold or a store bought tart shell
4. Wait for it to cool and brûlée before eating!
