Croque Madame

If you think delicious food can't be dense in nutrients, think again and check this recipe out!


Ingredients:

  • 1/2 tbsp Raw butter

  • 1/2 tbsp Flour

  • 1 cup Raw milk

  • 1/2 cup Raw cream

  • 1/2 cup Freshly grated raw cheese (we used gouda!)

  • High-quality turkey breast

  • Dijon mustard

  • Salt

  • Black pepper

  • White pepper

  • Nutmeg

  • Bread of choice (preferably sourdough)


Directions:

1. The sauce: on a pot melt your butter and add your flour, cook it while constantly stirring (1-2 minutes) on medium heat.


2. Slowly add your milk while whisking until fully incorporated and then add your cream, at this point a thick sauce should be done—season with salt, pepper, white pepper, and nutmeg.


3. Preheat your oven to broil.


4. Build your sandwich, top it with your creamy bechamel sauce, and broil until GBD or until the desired color is achieved. Top with an over-easy egg and enjoy what might be the best breakfast sandwich out there.
